Now at 45, and in a professional career my tattoo's are the first thing peers and clients notice about me, not my professional demeanor. So I usually wear long sleeved shirts even when it's 90 degrees out.Had I to do it again,I'd never have gone past my elbow.Limit them to places on your body that can be covered if need be. |

I'm studying to be a teacher, so I really have to hold back on the tattoos, which i regret a lot...all because of those narrow minded people living in today's world... |

| Trippy-Hippie | Jan 13, 8:16pm | I have 2 1/2 sleeves right now.Plus a hole lot more on various areas of my body. When I started getting Tatooed though I always thought of my career first. I left 2 inches of clean skin around my wrist. This way I can be professional in my work place but still have what I like where I want it. I dont mind the long sleves I', a chef and its the uniform we wear anyway.
There is a lot more thought that should be put into something that you will wear forever. First and foremost is QUALITY. Good work is not cheap and cheap work is not good (unless a good friend is an artist 8D) Think of longevity (no zig zag men or choking chickens) no fad tats...they go outta style (yea I got tribal around my ankle ><) then placement. Consider all this and it will go far for long tearm enjoyment of your art. |

| quinnnchick | Jan 27, 9:32am | | I have found that more than anything, as long as I do my job better than anyone else, my body art can be accepted or at least overlooked. I work in an elementary school with special needs children. Never in 8 years has a negative word been said about my visible tattoos or my facial piercings or 1+" stretched earlobes by parents or bosses. |

i have 2 friends who practically compete to see who can get the cheapest work (more like who can get blurry, shaky work or just aids first) |
